We all should have seen the writing on the wall after he won CORR’s ‘Rookie of the Year’ honors in 1998.  But for those of us who missed that memo, he carved it in granite by winning outright the CORR 2000 championship!

The year 2001 brought with it some big changes and even more accolades. Steven moved up to the PRO LITE truck division and by season’s end, had managed to place himself and the team in the 'TOP THREE' in the overall points championship! Along the way he garnered honors as the CORR PRO LITE 'ROOKIE OF THE YEAR', sponsored by Kumho Tire!

Well spoken... with a quick wit and keen sense of humor, he’s the darling of the ESPN crowd of network interviewers covering any given race.  To the delight of his supporters, his prodigious win record ensures they’ll keep coming back for more.  The quantity of ‘On Air’ time afforded him, along with the extended period television cameras are aimed squarely at his truck, makes him the envy of every other track competitor and a favorite among his sponsors.  Even ‘Kramer', Steven’s ever present sidekick (who just happens to be a black Lab), has practically been adopted as the official CORR mascot!

Being a member of a growing breed of owner/drivers, his machinery is turned out with a devotion to detail usually found only in corporate sponsored teams with ‘hired guns’ at the wheel. The truck always looks spectacular on the race course and technically... we’ll let his championship record speak for the vehicle’s engineering.

As a bachelor hailing from Wilmette, Illinois, he leads a relatively quite life.  Gone are the weekends filled with Grateful Dead concerts, parties and just relaxing, sharing a beer or three with friends.  These days you’ll find him and his crew busy working on the truck through the week, anxiously awaiting the race weekend.  Look up the word 'DEDICATION’ in the Webster’s and we wouldn’t be surprised if you find a photo of Steven...

... or maybe the dog.
